Dental and medical coverage are a bit different because there are limits and maximums you must follow when visiting your dentist. Paying your monthly premium allows you to see your dentist 1-2 times per year for preventive care for only a small co-payment. If an issue arises, your insurance lowers the amount you need to pay for your treatment. After reaching your deductible, you’re given an annual allowance to pay for the services you need.
Unfortunately, at the end of the year, your benefits expire. Anything you haven’t used won’t carry over into the new year. You also aren’t reimbursed for any unused coverage. Out-of-Network Coverage
Your insurance carrier may recommend you visit a dentist who is in their network, but you still have the freedom to choose any dentist who accepts your coverage. If you’re out-of-network, you can use your insurance, but you’ll need to pay the difference between our fees and their allowable coverage.
